Beauties of Turkey: Ankara Part 1.

Dear foreign health insurance customers, today we will tell you about Ankara, which is the capital of Turkey. We decided to address Ankara in many of our blog posts as we could not fit Ankara into a single blog post. Let’s start the first article of this series with this article. Ankara

Ankara has been the capital of Turkey since 1920. It has a special and deep-rooted history for Turkey and also has 5000 years of cultural experience due to its place in the heart of Anatolia. Seljuks, Byzantines, Romans, Ottoman Empire are examples of civilizations that have passed through Ankara in Anatolia.

According to current data, Ankara, Turkey's second largest city with a population of nearly 6 million people, became a metropolitan city in 1984 due to the migration from many villages in Anatolia after the establishment of the Republic of Turkey. Also, as most of you will know, the symbol of Ankara city is Ankara Cat with one blue eye and one green eye.

Anitkabir

Anitkabir, where the tomb of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk -the founder of the Republic of Turkey and commander-in-chief of the War of Independence- lies, was built after Atatürk's death in 1938. Anitkabir, which was completed in 1953; Can be visited free of charge by foreign and national visitors.

In addition to Atatürk's tomb, there is also the tomb of ismet Inonu, the second President of the Republic of Turkey. Anitkabir also includes the War of Independence Museum. You can also visit this museum for free and write down your feelings to the memoir.

The War of Independence Museum, which began accepting its visitors in 2002, consists of 4 sections and includes parts describing Atatürk's personal belongings, the Canakkale Land and Sea Wars, the Battle of Sakarya and The Great Offensive.

Anitkabir can be reached from the Tandoğan metro stop. In addition, many bus services departing from Kizilay Square pass through Anitkabir.

1920 Assembly / War of Independence Museum

Built in Ankara in 1919 to manage the Turkish Republic that began under the leadership of Atatürk. The assembly has the title of being the first assembly in which the building blocks of modern Turkey were put in place and established. The 1920 Assembly, which has not been used as a parliament since 1981, is open to visitors every day. In the museum you can find photos of the period of the War of Independence and the first three Turkish Presidents and see their personal belongings related to that era.

Since the 1st Parliament building, which was the first administrative center of the Turkish Republic era, is the first administrative center of the government, the Government and the Administrative Chambers are carefully protected.

The building also houses many collections and includes notes from congresses, documents of treaties, gifts and correspondence given by other leaders.

1920 Assembly is located in Ulus Square, in the District of Altındağ in Ankara. Transportation is possible with all means of transportation.
